Now what's that? Is it a bird? I've seen plenty of those in my house...Is it a plane? I don't know what one of those looks like yet...then what is it? It's been hanging in front of my face for the last 7 weeks!!

Because I am (almost) Canadian

On friday we went to the Canadian Embassy for the THIRD time! And guess what? We STILL didn't have all our documents...my Ima and Abba were a little peeved...especially after it took 3 hours to take my passport picture till I made just the right face...

Kfar Menachem with Aunt Rachel and Uncle Yoel

On friday we went to visit Aunt Rachel and Uncle Yoel on their Kibbutz


Uncle Yoel took us around the kibbutz and taught us about kibbutz life. He said people don't like kibbutz life anymore because people like having their own money and that children don't live in children's houses anymore, now they live with their parents. If I lived on a kibbutz, i'd be happy about that. I wore my plaid overalls so that i'd match with Uncle Yoel!


Uncle Yoel loved holding me! He said I made his day!


He showed us the chomah u'migdal, the kibbutz on the first day of its life.


And Aunt Rachel bought me this hat so I could stay out of the sun!


And I slept all the way home, the first AND second time!(we left my diaper bag there so we had to go back)

My mobile

I love looking at my mobile. There are all these colorful blobs floating around my head. I can look at them for hours! But I really don't know what they are. Are they people? Animals? Even so, I like them just the same.

I'm almost holding my head up! I can keep it up for a few seconds and then I get tired and it falls down...

My friend, Dr. Isseroff

I have a friend and his name is Mr. Isseroff. My Abba calls him Donnie. Actually, now his name is Dr. Isseroff. He graduated from medical school yesterday and we went to his graduation.I like him because he held me for a long time on shabbat when I was crying. I was up for the whole ceremony and I cheered for him when he went up to get his diploma. I am very proud of him because it's hard being a doctor. And i'm going to miss him because he's going far away now. But I hope I get to see him again soon.

The family picnic

On friday we went on a family picnic. Everyone loved holding me and cuddling with me. Uncle Etan lent me his cool sunglasses to protect me from the sun. They were also the height of fashion and everyone asked me where I bought them! Auntie Adena held me for a really long time. I love spending time with her. I got to meet all these relatives that I've never met before...and it was a really nice day.

Today my Ima played me music and we learned the song hadegel sheli. I loved playing and singing and listening to music. I also learned how to lift my legs all the way up and I can almost roll over!

Sleepytime

Sometimes when I wake up really early in the morning my Abba takes me into his office and we hang out. Usually he plays me music and I'm so relaxed I fall back asleep...

My first fireworks

Last night my Ima and Abba took me to my first fireworks show. It was really fun. I don't remember so much of the experience because I had just also had my first vaccination (I guess you can't always schedule things perfectly) and I was more tired than i've ever been. Anyway, I slept through the ENTIRE fireworks show- the biggest show Israel has ever had- 15,000 fireworks in 20 minutes on the Tel Aviv coast and it cost a million dollars...My Ima and Abba said it was great. I trust them.

Me and the seven dwarfs

I'm already making so many different faces that my Ima compares me to the seven dwarfs. And of course, if i'm the seven dwarfs then my Ima is... (come on, you remember the movie!)


Here is me as Sleepy. I tend to doze a lot. I can sleep anywhere- here i'm in my chair beside Abba's desk! We both have chairs but mine is more comfortable.


Here I'm Sneezy! My nose is a bit itchy here and I'm going to sneeze! I had a cold already but I feel like I might be getting another one. I guess it's the season!


Anyway, here I am as Bashful. I do get a little shy around the camera...



And here i'm Doc. I'm very interested in all my toys- especially my Mobile from the Greenbaums!


Here i'm a little fussy- so i'm Grumpy. I'm not usually grumpy but sometimes I get indigestion. Nothing a little Maalox and a lot of burping won't cure.


And here i'm Happy! I've been smiling a lot lately. I guess life is just getting more and more exciting by the day!

I know I left out Dopey (I know you were counting) but my Ima says i'm not dopey. I'm actually quite interesting! She says she can look at me for hours.

I'm so cute

Everyone says i'm so cute, especially my Ima. Today I went with Ima to work and all her students were playing with me and holding me and they kept saying something about eating me up. I hope they don't, but it's fun when they hold me. We went to see an apartment down the street from Ima's school and she told me we're moving there next year. I hope I get my own room.

The singing donkey

I love to play. This is me in my play garden. I don't know what else to call it but there are lots of fun things for me to do in it. I mostly watch the singing donkey and look at all the bright colors. Isn't it funny that there's a singing donkey?

Shabbat in Raanana

This past shabbat we went to Raanana to visit Sabba and Savta Cohen. I had a fun time playing with my uncles Arieli and Etan and learning Rambam shabbat morning with Abba, Sabba, Savta, and Aunt Judy. I also loved playing in my play yard. I played so much I fell asleep...

My favourite things...

I have a new favourite friend and his name is Mr. Rothschild- he's my very best friend and he plays with me every day. Mr. Rothschild is my stuffed puppy. He wears a green jacket and bow tie, he's a professor, and he rattles when my Ima moves him...I'm bringing him along with me for shabbat. Of course, my other favourite thing is sleeping...

I was born

These are pictures of me when I was born. I was born on April 5th- on 7 Nissan, just about 5 weeks ago! My Ima and Abba were so happy that I arrived in that day because my Ima was getting pretty uncomfortable...and because they were so happy to finally meet me! I was born 3.2kg, which is about 7 lb. Ima liked the hospital more than me, because I had to sleep in the same room as a lot of other babies who seemed like they also didn't like being there very much- it was very loud in there! But one thing I did like was having so many visitors...at one point the nurses kept me in the nursery and people couldn't see me, so my two sabbas snuk in and visited me. They also took my picture so they could show their friends how cute I am...they do that a lot...

My Life

Hi, My name is Gedalya Gershon David Cohen and I have a really long name. Actually, if I don't resent it when i'm older, I hope to appreciate the fact that I was named for two namesakes- two of my Abba's zaidies....or sabbas, as we say here in Israel. Welcome to my blog! I wanted my Ima and Abba to create this blog for me so that all of you could keep up with my life- because I'm changing every day- and soon, I won't only be sleeping, eating, and burping- and so you all don't seem as far away! Keep checking because my Ima keeps updating and putting up pictures. I have to go take a nap now...or get my diaper changed...
