Our trip to the Jerusalem Botanical Gardens and some goofballs...

Not sure why this post never got published, but better late than never!

These pictures are all pretty much self-explanatory. We had a necessary and much-needed, fun post-hospital vacation after Miss. A came home and one day we went to the Botanical Gardens. We basically strolled through the woods for the afternoon and took a train ride. It was lets just say, mamash gevaldig! (and I never use Yiddish- how would you convey that in English? Magical!)

I never posted these but here are Rafi's much awaited pictures from his graduation!

Tzviya and the goats

Here Tzviya is minding her own business when 2 goats approach her. She bravely defends herself. Disclaimer: She was TOTALLY fine after. She just really doesn't like goats.

This video came out pretty poorly, but you still see Tzviyoosh sitting beside Limor, her favourite teacher...she's also very proud of herself because only a few kids were in this song. Yay Tzviya!

Hodu L'Hashem Ki Tov

For those of you who think we just dropped off the face of the Earth, it certainly feels like we did. Some of you may know, but for those who don't, Achinoam was very sick with something called H.U.S. We stayed in the hospital and took care of her at home for all of November. We have a lot of thanks to give to Gd for the fact that she has recovered and is back in school and back to her normal self, so THANK YOU! A lot of prayer was done for her and a lot of good deeds. We hope people continue to pray and do good deeds for others who need the help. Here are some pictures from the day we got back from the hospital.

Stamping with Corks

Since it's our anniversary week (Happy Anniversary Sweetie! 6 years!), this craft project is dedicated to hearts.

I took a leftover cork from our Shabbat wine and cut it out with an exacto knife.

You can use acrylic paint for the stamping- here I used gouache.

You can cut out cards from scrap paper, or use blank white or cream ones. Here, I had some cream colored Crane cards left over.

Mix the paints, use lots of color, and start stamping!

I'm going to cut more patterns into future corks and make a whole set, but for now, we'll have fun with hearts.

Special thanks to The Lettered Set for this idea!

And now, back to life!

We took this picture on Sukkot- I know, it looks like Purim. But isn't every day Purim? At our house it is!

Crafting for Sukkot

We really enjoy doing art projects all together. It's a bit difficult managing to help 3 little ones all at the same time, but here are two projects that are fairly easy for a 3-4 year old to do on their own.

First: Paper Chains

For this project you'll need:

Colored paper
Scissors
Stapler
Crayons/Markers
Glue stick
Sparkles / glitter
Ribbon/string
Hole puncher

You can color the paper first or for older kids, color the individual strips. Cut paper into strips or buy ready made strips (5 NIS at craft stores in Raanana). Dot glue at one end and make a circle out of the strip. Thread the next strip through the first, dot the end with glue, and glue together. Keep going for as long as you want.

On Challahcrumbs, they add some magen davids to the chain which makes it looks extra nice.

Foam Mobile for the Sukkah!
For the second project, you'll need:

Foam rimonim or any shape (use more than one for a mobile)

googly eyes

paint/markers

paper clips (for sticking through the top)

fishing wire/ribbon/string (for tying it all together)

Paint the foam any way you like (note: we used finger paint but it doesn't work that great with this foam- it also takes forever to dry). Glue eyes on it. Wait for it all to dry. Do the same on the other side. Break the paper clip in half and stick it in the top. To finish it off, tie them together with fishing wire. Voila! My kids love this one.

Vesamachta B'Chagecha!

Have a wonderful and happy chag!

Here we are with our first sukkah ever!

More on Achinoam and Tzviya's Graduation

Miss A comes first in the title because she was more amenable to participating in her graduation ceremony. Miss T wanted to just sit on my lap and let me do all the work....yep, up there is the one photo we got.
