Yom Hazikaron

Today is Yom Hazikaron in Israel. It is the day that we remember the brave soldiers and civilians who died for our country. It is a very sad day- everyone is affected. Everyone knows someone who died. Ima told me about one person in particular who was very brave- his name is Roi Klein z"l. He was a Major and in the Lebanon war in the summer, he saved the lives of the soldiers in his brigade by jumping on a grenade. As he jumped, he said "shma yisrael Hashem elokeinu Hashem echad..." To me, he was a real hero, a real moser nefesh. Let us remember Roi and everyone who died in protecting our country.
